This February, the Chilfen Timber Packaging division invested in a new Stromab Automatic Crosscut Saw for our Kings Langley based business, Trafalgar Cases.
At Chilfen, we continually invest in the latest equipment and technologies. Doing so enables us to provide our customers with the latest in optimisation software, increased speed and efficiency and ultimately, a higher quality end product. All of which are core to our company values.
Our new automatic crosscut saw provides more efficient optimisation of all solid softwood sections used to manufacture our timber packaging solutions.
What can it do?
The automatic crosscut saw is a heavy-duty piece of machinery, designed to effectively cut softwood timber. With a pneumatic upstroke action and various advanced operator controls, it allows for fast positioning providing a higher level of repeat cutting accuracy.
Both in-feed and out-feed tables are of all steel construction meaning even heavy sections or packs of timber can be processed, again speeding up the manufacturing process and allowing us to manufacturer higher volumes at an increased speed. An advanced touchscreen display allows for the storing and running of cutting lists at the push of a button, greatly improving efficiency and accuracy.
With 3 levels of optimisation, including ‘board sequence’ for repetitive cutting, the saw works to align itself with our continual goal to provide a faster service for both small and large production runs, without any compromise on quality.
