The Chilfen Timber Packaging division exhibited at the annual Southern Manufacturing & Electronics Exhibition in Farnborough this February. The 3-day event was a record-breaking success, with its biggest turnout of exhibitors and attendees to date.
The exhibition has been held annually for over 30 years and is one of the most popular engineering shows in the UK. Held at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre in Hampshire, the show attracts a diverse range of businesses from all over the country, from SME’s to big-name manufacturers.
Having exhibited at the show previously, Chilfen Timber Packaging were keen to return this year. In particular to highlight the full capabilities of the division, bringing together Trafalgar Cases and Chilfen Export Packaging to offer our customers a superior timber packaging service and expanded range of products and skills.
The exhibition was very well attended and we were pleased to speak to many new faces at our stand over the course of the 3 days, as well as catching up with existing customers. We had a number of sample cases on the stand, in addition to showcasing our range of linings and added product protection. A significant amount of time at the exhibition was spent educating businesses on how added features such as foam linings can be used to protect their goods in storage and transit. This was quite an eye-opener for some who were keen to learn more and wished to put our packaging solutions to the test with their own products.
Many attendees at the exhibition were interested in finding packaging solutions to fit their unique needs and we were happy to advise them on this. Our metal edges cases were of particular interest for those looking for an economic but robust solution to their case requirements, and our battened plywood cases were of interest to those looking to ship high value, delicate equipment safely worldwide.
